How to Get Smell Out of Restaurant Clothes

Rather than accepting this off-putting aroma, there are a range of household solutions that can be used to eliminate the food related stench and leave the clothing smelling fresh. By using the below solutions, you can effectively treat this stink and restore freshness within you kitchen wear.

Smell Removal Solutions for Restaurant Clothing

1 Use Hot Water

Though simply running your restaurant clothing through a cold wash cycle will usually do the trick, many have found that a hot cycle to be most effective. The hot water will work to expand the stitching and allow the deodorizing detergent to get deep within the clothing fiber. As a safety measure, be sure to first check your clothing tag’s specifications before setting to the hottest setting.

2 Cup of Baking Soda

Use of this deodorizing powder can work wonders in absorbing difficult food odors from restaurant clothes. Place clothing within a water and begin the cycle on the hottest possible setting. Once the washer has filled partially with hot water, proceed to pour in a full cup of baking soda within the cycle. During the rinse, the baking soda will work the soften and brighten the clothing and eliminate any built up odors within the fabric.

3 White Vinegar Boost

As a powerful kitchen acid, the use of white vinegar can do much to remove challenging cooking odors from restaurant clothing. Begin a hot washing machine cycle and place the affected restaurant clothes within the solution. Next, measure a cup of white vinegar and pour within the washer. Upon the cycle’s completion, the acid will have work to cut through all difficult food residues and leave the restaurant clothing smelling fresh.

4 Bleach Your Whites

2 Vodka Mist

In a similar function as lemon juice spray, the high levels of alcohol within vodka can work to neutralize cooking odors on contact. Get your restaurant’s bartender to pour a small amount of vodka within a generic spray bottle and then proceed to spray down your smelly clothing with the beverage. Once performed, allow the alcohol to quickly evaporate away over the following 20-30 minutes.
